AFL Player Insurance Information
Protection That Goes Beyond Game Day
As the appointed insurance broker for the AFL, Marsh has developed personal injury cover to help protect players participating in affiliated leagues. The policy is designed to provide peace of mind for players and families throughout the season.
What Does The Cover Include?
The ‘Platinum’ level of personal injury cover for affiliated players includes:
90% reimbursement of non-Medicare medical expenses
Up to $7,500 per claim
$50 excess
$250,000 maximum capital benefits
Up to $1,000,000 maximum quadriplegia/paraplegia cover
Important Things To Know
Non-Medicare Medical Expenses
The cover can assist with medical costs that can’t be claimed through Medicare, including:
Physiotherapy
Chiropractic treatment
Dental expenses

This Is Not Private Health Insurance
Personal injury cover does not replace private health insurance. Medical items that can be claimed through private health insurance — including doctor and surgeon fees — are not included under this policy.
This Is Not Life Insurance
The policy is designed to cover injuries resulting from accidents. It is not a sickness or illness policy.
Additional Cover Recommended
Marsh strongly recommends all players investigate their personal insurance needs, including:
Private health insurance
Life insurance
Loss of income cover (particularly for self-employed players)
